Paying more for hosting than the site needs?

Drupal hosting optimisation and management

Spend less on infrastructure without making your Drupal site slower or less reliable. We review the hosting you already own, fix what costs too much or runs too slowly, and can manage it afterwards.

This is for you if

  • your cloud bill has grown but nobody is sure why
  • the site feels slow despite generous server resources
  • traffic spikes place unnecessary pressure on the origin
  • your AWS or other cloud configuration has not been reviewed recently
  • caching, CDN, backups or monitoring have evolved without a clear plan
  • you want independent advice before changing hosting provider

What is included

Infrastructure and cost
We examine resource usage, traffic patterns, storage, bandwidth and the cloud services in play to identify oversized, duplicated or unnecessary capacity.
Drupal performance
We review Drupal caching, database behaviour, cron, queues, search and other application workloads that affect hosting cost and response times.
Caching and content delivery
We assess whether a CDN and a better caching strategy could serve more requests away from the origin, improve response times and absorb traffic peaks more efficiently.
Reliability and operations
We review monitoring, backups, restore procedures, staging and deployment workflows, and point out gaps and practical improvements.
A clear action plan
You receive prioritised recommendations with the expected benefit, implementation effort and trade-offs of each. We can implement the agreed changes or work alongside your existing hosting or development team.

We review how your site is hosted, identify unnecessary cost and performance bottlenecks, then recommend and implement practical improvements. That may include right-sizing cloud resources, reviewing AWS or other cloud configuration, improving Drupal and server-side caching, placing a CDN such as Cloudflare in front of the site, and tuning how static and dynamic content is delivered.

The objective is simple: better use of the infrastructure you already pay for, while improving performance, resilience and visibility.

How a review runs

A review starts with read access to your cloud console, traffic analytics and server logs, or a short measurement on the live site if those are not available. We establish a baseline first: what the environment costs per month, how it responds under normal and peak load, and how much of the traffic is served from cache. Every recommendation in the plan is compared against that baseline, so you can see what each change is expected to achieve before it is approved.

The plan is written in plain language and ordered by impact. Some items are quick, such as a cache rule or an oversized instance. Others, such as restructuring how the database is used or introducing a CDN in front of an integration-heavy site, need a small project of their own. We say which is which and what each involves.

Implementing the changes

You choose who implements the plan. We can do it under a fixed quote, work alongside your hosting provider or developers, or hand the plan over and review the result. Changes go through staging where one exists, and every change is measured against the baseline after it is deployed. Nothing is switched off or resized without your agreement and a documented way back.

Managing the environment afterwards

If you would rather not carry the operational load yourself, we can keep looking after the environment: monitoring with a Drupal engineer behind the alerts, operating system and stack patching, backup and restore checks, and capacity reviews as traffic changes. This is managed infrastructure in your name, not a tenancy on our servers. The cloud account, the backups and the DNS stay yours, and everything we set up is documented in a runbook that lives in your repository. Leaving means revoking our access.

Sites that arrive from a Drupal 7 migration or an upgrade often have their hosting reviewed as part of the launch, and many pair ongoing management with a support retainer so that infrastructure and application work land in one monthly report.

Common questions

Do we need to move hosting provider?
Not necessarily. We start by improving the environment you already have. If moving would provide a clear technical or commercial benefit, we will explain why and compare the options.
Can you guarantee savings?
No responsible provider can promise savings before reviewing the environment. We identify where costs may be reduced and estimate the likely impact before changes are approved. Some sites benefit primarily from better performance or resilience rather than a lower bill.
Will optimisation improve performance?
Often, but the result depends on the application, traffic and existing infrastructure. We establish a baseline, make agreed changes and measure the outcome rather than promising an arbitrary score.
Can you manage the environment afterwards?
Yes. Ongoing monitoring, maintenance and infrastructure management can be provided under a separately agreed support plan. The cloud account and infrastructure remain under your ownership.

Not sure which one you need?

Send us the URL and a sentence about what is bothering you. We will tell you which service fits, or whether you need one at all. The first reply is free and commits you to nothing.
